Marketing and Development Intern
Guernica is looking for a marketing and development intern to start immediately. Duties include writing press releases and promotional material, maintaining the press list, updating clip files, assisting with special events and fundraising initiatives, and special projects. The intern will work eight to ten hours per week (remotely for the most part) and is responsible for attending editorial meetings (held on alternate Thursday evenings in Manhattan) and special events. This is an excellent opportunity for an undergraduate or graduate student in communications, marketing, arts management, or a related field to gain experience working for a not-for-profit magazine. Viral Marketing Assistant
Guernica seeks a hand with its viral marketing initiatives, especially video. The Viral Marketing Assistant will work on increasing the magazine’s presence on websites, blogs, and other internet venues. He or she will find new channels for Guernica’s content and creative ways to share it with a greater audience. Editorial Interns
Guernica seeks editorial interns for the spring 2010 semester. Duties include copy editing, fact checking, HTML formatting, finding Delicious links, writing staff picks, transcribing interviews, and special projects. Interns also work on viral marketing, growing the magazine’s subscriber list, and publicizing content. Writing for the magazine (the blog in particular) is encouraged. Interns work eight to ten hours per week (remotely for the most part) and are responsible for attending editorial meetings, held on alternate Thursday evenings.
