Special Events Coordinator
Guernica is looking for a Special Events Coordinator to start immediately. He/she will work with Guernica’s senior staff to plan and execute a variety of special events, including the fall benefit, readings, salons, patron events, etc. The Special Events Coordinator will work eight to ten hours per week on average (remotely for the most part) and, of course, more before events. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, deadline-driven, adaptable, friendly, and creative. A record of successful event planning is preferred but not required. The position is unpaid. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in breaking into special events in New York City to gain experience and establish contacts. Accountant

Blog Intern
Guernica is looking for a blog intern for the spring semester. Daily duties include assisting the blog editor in HTML formatting, posting blogs on Web site, publicizing blog content, searching other blogs for content, and special projects. Interns are encouraged to write for the blog. The intern will work eight to ten hours per week (remotely for the most part) and is responsible for attending editorial meetings. Publishing Intern
Guernica is looking for a publishing intern for the fall semester. Duties include assisting with special events (like the fall benefit and readings), fundraising initiatives (such as grants and membership), and special projects. The intern will work eight to ten hours per week (remotely for the most part) and is responsible for attending bi-weekly editorial meetings and special events. This is an excellent opportunity for an undergraduate or graduate student in English, communications, marketing, arts management, or a related field to gain experience working for a not-for-profit magazine. Editorial Interns
Guernica seeks editorial interns for the spring 2010 semester. Duties include copy editing, fact checking, HTML formatting, finding Delicious links, writing staff picks, transcribing interviews, and special projects. Interns also work on viral marketing, growing the magazine’s subscriber list, and publicizing content. Writing for the magazine (the blog in particular) is encouraged. Interns work eight to ten hours per week (remotely for the most part) and are responsible for attending editorial meetings, held on alternate Thursday evenings.
