In 2013 you amazed us with your support and we are grateful. We hope you'll keep letting us know that you have even higher hopes for the kind of magazine that Guernica can be by making a tax-deductible donation of any size this holiday season. Whatever you give, be it $5, $55, or $500, will enable us to give right back to you, in the form of a Guernica that is all grown up. Next year, we’ll measure ourselves against the wall again and see that we’re even taller.
I so enjoyed Antonya Nelson’s new short story collection Nothing Right: Short Stories. The stories all revolve around midwestern women in complicated relationships, both familial and romantic. The highlight for me was how realistically each of the women was drawn.
Bio: Katherine Dykstra is the nonfiction editor at Guernica. Her interview with Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, “Cracked, Not Shattered”:http://www.guernicamag.com/interviews/705/cracked_not_shattered/, appeared in Guernica’s August 2008 issue.
