Michael Shankman, a Contributing Art Editor at Guernica, was featured in yesterday’s San Francisco Examiner.
The west coast daily’s interview with Shankman coincides with his current exhibition at San Fran’s local Hang Art Gallery. In this piece, Shankman reflects on his art, the recession, and the intractable differences between San Francisco and New York—“The New York culture is thick and there is just more of everything there, but there are days when the city just crushes you. Plus, you can’t get a fresh avocado there to save your life.”
