On the second anniversary of the Haiti earthquake, a comics journalism project highlights the devastated country that is still recovering.

By **Justin Alvarez**

Today is the second anniversary of the devastating earthquake that demolished Haiti’s capital, Port-au-Prince. Last year, Cartoon Movement spent a month in Haiti in search of a comic artist and journalists to produce comics journalism about life in Haiti.

The result: a 75-page comic, Haiti:Tents Beyond Tents, written by Pharés Jerome, a reporter for Le Nouvelliste, and drawn by comic artist Chevelin Pierre.

Below are the first chapter of the project as well as a record by Caroline Bins that chronicles Cartoon Movement’s month in Haiti.
