Philip Heying uses the camera to make cross sections of lived experience. He sequences his images to reflect the confusion and quickened pace of contemporary western culture. These photographs defy the viewer to find a linear narrative. Rather like rowhouses and the people living within them, these images find purpose in the presumption of adjacency, if in anything at all.
