Gowhar Yaqoob is an independent research scholar based out of Srinagar (Kashmir) India. Her research practice focuses on medieval and modern history of literature with special focus on Kashmir. Her interest includes exploration of contemporary visual culture in Kashmir. She also writes poetry and short fiction. She is the recipient of many fellowships and her work is widely published. She is presently working on a book manuscript that looks at the earliest modern literary history of Kashmir.
