José Luis Rey was born in Córdoba (Spain) in 1973. He received his PhD in contemporary literature from the University of Córdoba and has translated the complete poems of Emily Dickinson into Spanish. His books are published by Visor, a prominent poetry house in the Spanish-speaking world, and he is the recipient of the Premio Fundación Loewe. He is also an essayist. He lives in Córdoba, and his most recent book is Barroco.
