Lauren Beukes is the author of five novels, including Zoo City, The Shining Girls and Afterland, which have won multiple awards, been translated into twentyfive languages. She’s previously worked as a journalist, documentary maker and showrunner on South Africa’s first half hour animated TV show, Pax Afrika. She also writes comics and screenplays. She lives in Cape Town, South Africa with her twelve-year-old daughter.
