Patil Balian is a collage artist based in Beirut, Lebanon. Her work creates liminal spaces where figures and landscapes are caught in metamorphosis. In her tableaus, subjects inhabit environments that are endowed with intentionality, functioning as extensions of their own psyche and echoing animistic worldviews. Drawing from myth, mysticism, and the deep past, she works intuitively, letting images surface as a way to encounter herself. Visually, she is inspired by the symbolic language of Sergei Parajanov and Leonora Carrington.
