Writer and two-time Guernica contributor Susie Linfield will be participating in a Susan Sontag conference on Friday, March 4. The lecture, titled “The Scandals of Susan Sontag,” will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Elebash Recital Hall at the City University of New York.
The conference includes speakers such as writer Sigrid Nunez and NYU professor Catharine Stimpson. Linfield’s section about “Sontag and the Female Intellectual” kicks off at 4:15 p.m. and will be moderated by Princeton English professor Elaine Showalter.
Linfield is a professor at NYU’s Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute. She has written for Guernica about the photography of Sept. 11 and the struggles of reconciliation after genocide.
