Jennifer Gersten

Jennifer Gersten is a violinist and writer from New York and based in Oslo on a Fulbright research grant. She is a substitute with Norsk Kringkastingsorkesteret and Stavanger Symfoniorkester and will join the tutti violins of Helsingborg Symfoniorkester (SE) in fall 2023; she also pursues numerous projects within contemporary and experimental music. She is the 2018 winner of the Rubin Institute Prize in Music Criticism and has contributed reporting, essays, and criticism to The New York Times, The New Yorker, and Rolling Stone, in addition to hosting a podcast for the Norwegian experimental label SOFA Music.
