Jessie Male is a PhD student in English and Disability Studies at The Ohio State University. She received an MFA in nonfiction from Hunter College, where she began work on a memoir about being the daughter of a polio survivor. Her personal essays have been featured in Bustle, Nerve, Volume 1 Brooklyn, Refinery 29, Palaver, and Satya Magazine's 20th Anniversary Issue. She divides her time between Columbus, OH and Brooklyn, NY.
