Michele Leavitt, a high school dropout, hepatitis C survivor, and former trial attorney, writes essays and poems. Her memoir excerpt, “No Trespassing,” won the William Allen Award from Ohio State and received a “Notable” listing in Best American Essays 2011. Back East, her full-length poetry collection, won the 2013 Michael Macklin Award and is available from Moon Pie Press.
